MEET YOUR DOULAS
Megan’s love for childbirth and babies began when she started working as a Registered Nurse on the postpartum and well-baby nursery units at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in 2005. In 2007, she accepted a position as the Nurse Manager for Restoration Pregnancy Resource Center in Hammond, Louisiana. At the center, she cultivated a love for educating expectant mothers throughout their pregnancies, providing education and support for their newborns, and enjoyed holding new precious babies everyday. Throughout these years, she and her long-time friend/doula partner, Krista Chance, began assisting and supporting close friends during their own labors and childbirths. At the beginning of 2015, they both were led to make it “official” and became DONA trained doulas. Megan is very thankful for her different roles throughout the years helping new mothers and is looking forward to this new season of being a doula!
Megan married her husband, Mark Richardson, on December 13, 2003. Together they have five daughters. In August 2015, Megan transitioned from Restoration Pregnancy Resource Center to being a stay-at-home mother. She currently is homeschooling their children.
Krista’s love for pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and babies began almost 14 years ago when she unexpectedly found out she was pregnant about 4 months after marrying her sweet husband Andy Wayne. Their twins were born the day after their first wedding anniversary, and she has been nursing or pregnant ever since. Over the years, she’s had the privilege of learning more and more about all things baby and birth, and she is passionate about sharing with others so that they are equipped and encouraged. Knowing that her long-time friend/doula partner, Megan Richardson, also shared this same desire to see women and families thrive as they welcome new life, working together as doulas seemed to be the best way to team up to serve mothers. In 2015, they became DONA trained doulas. At every delivery, her enthusiasm is renewed over the amazing creation of the human body, and she finds it a joy to guide mothers in doing what their bodies were made to do!
Krista instructs Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Flow, and other group fitness classes at North Cypress Fitness in Hammond. She also home-schools her eight children. Her husband, Andy Wayne Chance, is a pastor of The Vine Church in Hammond and a teacher at Northlake Christian School in Covington.
Whitney's passion for children and families began almost 13 years ago when she began serving in a local kids' ministry and her love has grown even deeper since then. In 2006, she and her husband, newlyweds at the time, moved to Utah to work with troubled teenagers to help restore their families. They moved back to Louisiana in 2008 where she accepted a position as Kids Ministry Director for her church. In 2009, she welcomed her first baby and used her pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding journey as the beginning of a new found passion for helping women feel equipped and successful in all things baby. Over the years, she has enjoyed learning more and supporting moms on their own journeys of motherhood. In 2016, she decided to become a DONA trained doula and join up with two of her dear friends, Krista and Megan. She is grateful and so honored for the opportunity to serve families in this new way and is excited for what's to come.
Whitney married her husband, Jordan Pedeaux in August of 2006 and together they have 4 children. She is a stay-at-home mom and home-schools her children. Her husband is Administrative and Worship Pastor of The Mission Church in Hammond.
